National Technical Services Training Manager

Samsung HVAC imports and manages equipment sales to HVACR wholesale distributors, manufacturer representatives and plan and specification representatives throughout Canada and the USA. Position Summary:

This position will supervise and directly support internal and external departments in their efforts to train and promote education on Samsung HVAC products. This position will be considered the technical training expert and must be capable of identifying technical services related training needs for the company. This position will also be responsible for the design, development and management, and implementation of all technical training and materials that are needed to meet the needs of all internal and external customers. They will also be responsible for the design, upkeep, rollout and effectiveness of all training centers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Other duties may be assigned In this position, either directly or through others, the incumbent will:

  • Work with internal and external departments, manufactures and HVAC product design team members on the development of manufacturing plans to include standard work and supporting documentation tools

  • Align with company business objectives and design enterprise training to meet internal and external training needs

  • Collaborate with management, department heads and managers throughout company to ensure employees have training and educational materials

  • Coordinate instructor led courses, remote instruction and video conferencing

  • Research, purchase and distribute and manage the process of all training materials being placed online for self-paced training (helpful for remote/mobile workforce)

  • Conduct technical skills training needs analysis for all functional departments and use various tools to determine this information such as surveys, focus groups and analysis of performance data

  • Design, develop and distribute technical training tools and other end-user documentation

  • Participate in the selection and guide development of Technical Services training tools, showrooms and materials to ensure they address requirements, are user friendly, facilitate effective learning and are cost effective

  • Maintain ongoing training schedules

  • Manage, track and report on the usage of all training centers

  • Maintain online version of courses (if applicable)

  • Determine training effectiveness, evaluate criteria and data gathering/tracking methods

Background/Experience:

To qualify for this position, the following minimal background and skill levels are required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning or equivalent combination of education and experience required

  • HVAC License & Certifications preferred

  • 6 years specialized training and knowledge in HVAC industry

  • Experience researching information and preparing communications

  • In-depth understanding of HVAC products, competitive landscape, competitive products, and HVAC sales experience

  • Strong project management skills; ability to formulate action plans and timelines and execute to those plans

Physical/Mental Demands and Working Conditions:

The position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:

  • Operate a computer keyboard, telephone and view a video display terminal more than 90% of work time

  • Visual acuity, color distinction, and numeric and character detail distinction for the analysis and preparation of statistical reports and information

  • Lift, move, or adjust general office equipment, boxes, or materials weighing up to 100 pounds using proper materials handling equipment and procedures

  • Occasionally work additional hours beyond normal schedule

  • Individual must possess a valid driver's license in good standing

  • Regular travel requirements with occasional overnight travel required up to 25% of the time
